Military Family Resources

Military One Source - a resource for establishing quality-of-life policies and programs that help our service members, their families and survivors be well and mission ready. Military OneSource is the gateway to programs and services that support the everyday needs of the 4.4 million service members and immediate family members of the military community.

Knox County Veterans Services - a resource that provides services for qualified veterans including, assistance in benefits application, emergency financial assistance, guidance in obtaining aid from federal, state, and local organizations, benefits application upon the death of a veteran, and referrals to other agencies for assistance. 

ODEW Military Families - a resource from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce that offers a number of programs to assist Ohio’s military families during frequent moves and family separations during deployment as well as reintegration.

Ohio Military Kids - a resource that supports children of military families by raising awareness of deployment’s impact and providing education and training for schools and communities.

Ohio Military Veteran Educators Program - a resource resource from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce that helps service members, veterans, and their spouses explore careers in education—either as teachers or in support roles—by offering free career counseling and employment guidance with no commitment required.

Military Child Education Coalition - a resource resource dedicated to supporting military-connected students by easing school transitions, strengthening academic and social-emotional well-being, and empowering families, schools, and communities with resources, training, and peer programs.

Our Military Kids - a resource that provides grants for sports, arts, enrichment programs, camps, for kids with military family connections, especially for transitions & separation issues.

ODEW Enrollment Options - a resource from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce that offers military families support  as they navigate transitions both into and out of the state.

Educational Resources for Military Connected Youth in Ohio - a resource that provides a 1 hour and 20 minute long webinar with handouts that offers loads of information on working with military connected youth and families in Ohio.

Military Tutor - a resource that provides that allows eligible students of Military Families in grades kindergarten through college to connect to a live tutor online at any time (24/7/361) for personalized help with homework, studying, test prep and more, at no cost.
